Last week a friend of mine bought me a golden book..... 

She did not know.....

That my grandmother's collection inspired me to collect them. We would collect them together, and look in the  BIG BOOK to see how much our dime store antiquing was really worth. (It was never a lot but a book worth $3 received a jump for joy!) I treasure the collection she started, and I love adding to it.

What she knew.....

Is that this particular golden book reminded her of her own childhood. She told me stories of reading and re-reading NURSE NANCY in her fathers workshop, while he worked.

What I know.....

Is that my friends name is Nancy, and she is an excellent Nurse....

So thank you Nurse Nancy from the bottom of my heart. I thank you for bringing fond memories to my mind and gratitude for them to my soul. your the best.

Just dance....

Over the last month or so, my dh has started a saturday morning dance off. He throws on music from his ipod, and gets his groove on in the dining room, with all three of us watching (the two boys and I). I shout out dance moves, and he completes them. Stuff like the cabbage patch, moon walking, and the snake, and sometimes he just makes up stuff. He will include all of us at one point in the dance off. Today Jake was heaved up over his shoulder for his dance rendition of a crazy gangster rap song. I was caught like a fish at the end of his simulated fishing line and joined in for a chorus. I know he enjoys himself, and he enjoys entertaining me.

Watching him kick off his shoes, and let loose brings a smile to my face every Saturday morning.

Have I ever told you that this is where I should be living. On the sixteenth hole at Spyglass in Pebble Beach, California. But instead I am happy gazing at it from afar, as I watch the hubby golf the sixteenth hole at Spy.

Here is a shot with him in front of where we should be living. That just might be as close as we get to a holiday photo in front of our dream home.

Today I promise to go about my day celebrating what life is. Instead of drooling over someone else's home.....

shame on me.

Different Directions...

If people offer their help or wisdom as you go through life, accept it gratefully. You can learn much from those who have gone before you.

But never be afraid or hesitant to step off the accepted path and head off in your own direction, if your heart tells you that it's the right way for you.

live your life...

A grassy hillside my mom and I could not pass up without taking a few photos.

My sisiter in law sent this to me, and it is not the first time I have read it, but I have remembered it ever since. I am so happy to have it cross my path again. I will try to keep this close to my heart as I go about my everyday life. Because every minute is a gift. (Sometimes I lose sight of that while I am cleaning up the cat throw up on the carpet. ) : )

I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretending the earth
would go into a holding pattern if I weren't there for the day.
I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage.
I would have talked less and listened more.
I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained,
or the sofa faded.
I would have eaten the popcorn in the 'good' living room and worried much
less about the dirt when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace.
I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather ramble about his youth.
I would have shared more of the responsibility carried by my husband.
I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up on a summer day
because my hair had just been teased and sprayed.
I would have sat on the lawn with my grass stains.
I would have cried and laughed less while watching television and more while watching life.
I would never have bought anything just because it was practical, wouldn't show soil, or was guaranteed to last a lifetime.
Instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy, I'd have cherished
every moment and realized that the wonderment growing inside me was the only chance in life to assist God in a miracle.
When my kids kissed me impetuously, I would never have said, "Later.
Now go get washed up for dinner." There would have been more "I love you's." More "I'm sorry's."
But mostly, given another shot at life, I would seize every minute...look at
it and really see it . live it .and never give it back. Stop sweating the small stuff.
Don't worry about who doesn't like you, who has more, or who's doing what.
Instead, let's cherish the relationships we have with those who do love us.
Let's think about what God HAS blessed us with. And what we are doing
each day to promote ourselves mentally, physically, emotionally. I hope you all have a blessed day.
