My love for almost anything furry began when I was really young. It developed into a full love affair with cats. I like dogs, I just find that they are not the best snuggle-rs. When sleeping over at a dear friends home when I was little, her 90 lb. golden retriever loved to sleep with us in her double bed. He took up a lot of room, he was unmovable, and he had hot humid bad breath... perhaps this is why I veered toward slight fluffy cats instead. No offense Tracy, I did {heart} Mikey...... i just did not like getting smothered while sleeping.
This is one of my top favorite memories from my early childhood. I think I was six..... Our household cat was skid-dish, (which I will blame on my older brother). He not only tortured me with teasing, the cat was a victim as well. : ( ANYHOW.... back to my point. The cat did not usually sleep with me, to my broken hearts discontent. But one night she did..... I begged my mom with mild whispering (so not to disturb the cat) to take a picture.
She did.....
For a small while we thought we had misplaced the picture, but it is found, and all is right with my world. That night I did not move a muscle, so that the cat would stay with me. she did. : ) thank you momma cat.... Kissda...... i {heart} you. One night of childhood ingrained in my memory forever. All because of a little person covered in fur.
The first cat I was able to rescue as an adult, just happens to love sleeping on me. The dh picked him out, before the dh became the dh and was only the darling boyfriend-db. Spencer and I have a special bond that the dh is jealous of. All I can say is I waited a long time to be able to care for a kitty of my own, and the perfect one came my way because of the dh. So the dh sent him to me. The best present anyone can ask for, and we saved him from euthanasia... so Spencer is grateful and proud and sweet.... and i {heart} him too.
Side note: Friends of mine, please don't be jealous of my barbie townhouse with elevator in the first picture. Although that is the box it came in, it was a hand me down. But I loved it too. That toy rocked, and I thought I was so cool for having it. thanks mom. Although I don't really remember playing with it that much........ hummmmmm
